History of Bioelements
Written by: Julie Howarth
Barbara Salomone, CEO and founder of Bioelements, began her career as a makeup artist in West Hollywood, dealing with actors, models and musicians who began requesting additional skin care services. This gave Salomone a reason to further her education as an esthetician and also prompted her to start researching a skin care line because she was unhappy with the products on the market. No other products lines offered the flexibility to create a product at the spa for the customer based on his or her skin care needs and environment.
In 1985, Salomone opened up the Conservatory of Ethics, which provides advanced training for estheticians. After five years, Salomone began to develop the line of skin care she'd envisioned, which would complement the advanced level of education being provided for estheticians. Above all, the products needed to be changeable and blendable based on the clients' needs. So in 1991, Bioelements was launched after mountains of research from cosmetic chemists, estheticians and a pharmacologist.
Now the Conservatory has sister campuses all over the country, including locations in LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Colorado Springs and Richmond, VA., with courses being taught oversees as well.
