MD duct line of Allergan, Inc. based in Irvin California that produces specialty pharmaceutical products. Allergen, an international company, is a discovery-to-development research facility that specializes in skin care, neuromuscular treatments and eye care products. It has facilities in 100 different countries around the world. Over 5000 people are employed by Allergan in sales, development, production and research. Allergan takes the products it produces seriously and works closely with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make sure its products meet all requirements before they are introduced to the public.

Allergan launched the MD Forte line in 1995 looking to tap into a market ripe for anti aging products. A vast amount of money is spent on anti aging products each year mostly by men and women between the ages of 50 to 59. Glycolic chemical peels are the fastest growing anti aging products on the market.

Allergan is committed to assisting in finding products for specific disease areas such as, psoriasis, acne, photodamage, movement disorders, metabolic diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, retinal disease and some types of cancer. As Allergan focused on acne (clogged pores) and psoriasis (patches of thick dry scaly skin) MD Forte was established as a higher end product that treats those problems. Products in the MD Forte line created especially to target acne prone skin are Glycare I, Glycare II and Glycare Prefection Gel. These MD Forte products which contain glycolic acid compound should be administered by doctors. However, the products can be purchased on the internet.

Allergan is also the creator of Botox® therapy originally used for a range of muscular and glandular problems. It has been on the market for over 10 years. As Botox® was studied more; researchers found it could be used as an anti aging product. Now it is widely known for its cosmetic facial applications in the United States.
