Precautions of Prevage

While the antioxidants contained in Prevage cream do protect your skin against environmental stressors, sunscreen should still be worn daily with an SPF of at least 15.
Often when we try new products on our face, there is a nagging worry about burning, stinging or other side effects. In patient trials, Prevage antioxidant cream did not cause burning or stinging.
According to the Prevage Web site, whether or not you have sensitive skin, some people do experience breakouts any time they change their skin care regimen. If this is something that happens every time you try a new product, try to reduce the possibility of a breakout occurring by using Prevage antioxidant cream only once a day for the first two weeks and then begin twice a day after that.
Among the many ingredients in Prevage is propylene glycol, which is a substance used to improve the spreadability of a product. However, it can also worsen acne. Another is glycerin, which tends to draw water out of the skin and can make skin drier. *
One user of Prevage (groups-beta.google.com/) who has rosacea tried Prevage and experienced swelling and itching that resulted in a purplish hue to her skin.
According to Prevage's official site, Prevage antioxidant cream is only available through a physician's office. However, many people are able to purchase this product on the Internet. Before using any new product, especially if you have skin conditions like acne or rosacea, it's always a good idea to consult with your physician. Many dermatologists caution that even though a product may be sold in their office, it doesn't mean that it's endorsed or recommended by that physician.
